What Glam Scout collects

• An account. The app works without signing in; it creates an anonymous account so what you save and your sightings persist. If you sign in with Apple, Google, or a business email, we store the identifier and email that provider gives us. Nothing else from your profile.
• Sightings you log. The store, the product, price, colors, when you saw it, and a photo if you attach one. Photos are re-encoded before upload, which removes camera metadata including GPS. Sightings are public by design; that's the point of scouting.
• Searches, coarsely located. When you search with location on, we store the search text with your location rounded to about a kilometer. This becomes the "searches near you" count a store owner sees. Exact locations are never stored, and search text is never shown to a store with anything that identifies you.
• Store page views, as a count per store.
• Saved stores and products, tied to your account so they follow you to a new phone.
• Alerts, if you turn any on. For "Alert me," price-drop alerts on saved products, and "Deals near me," we keep what you're watching, a notification token for your device, and where you were when you opened the app, rounded to about a kilometer, so "near you" means near where you actually are. That point updates only when you open the app, never in the background. Turn an alert off and what it kept is gone.
• Messages you send us through the app, with your device model and app version so we can help.
• Reports and blocks. If you report a photo or block a scout, we keep that with your account so the photo stays hidden and the block holds. Unblock anytime from Settings.

What Glam Scout does not do

• No ad networks, no ad tracking, no analytics SDKs in the app, no selling or sharing of data with anyone. Stores and brands can pay for a card labeled "Sponsored"; it's chosen by what you're searching for and roughly where, never by a profile of you. This website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits by page and device type without cookies and without identifying you.
• Location is used only while you're using the app, only with your permission, and never in the background.
• Store owners see aggregates about their own store only, plus reports about photos of their own shelf (the reason and any note). They never see who searched, who scouted, or who reported a photo.
• Glam Scout isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you think a child under 13 has given us information, email hello@glamscoutapp.com and we'll delete it.

Photos: what comes down, and who decides

• We remove photos that show a person's face or a license plate, photos that aren't of products, and photos taken at a different store than the one they're listed under.
• A verified store owner can remove or keep a reported photo of their own shelf. "Verified" means Glam Scout has confirmed the claim by calling the store's listed phone number. Saying you're an owner, in a report or a message, doesn't make you one; claiming the store in the app does.
• Everything else is reviewed by Glam Scout, at our discretion, usually within a day. That includes every report about a store no one has claimed, and any decision an owner made that we think was wrong.
• We keep a record of each report: when it arrived, what was decided, when, and by whom (the store's verified owner or Glam Scout).

Where it lives, and deleting it

Data is stored with Supabase in the United States. Email is sent through Resend. You can delete your account and everything tied to it from Settings in the app; sightings you logged stay, with their link to you removed, because other shoppers rely on them.
